This trail is only open on Irvine Ranch Natural Landmark's Wilderness Access Days. Cyclists, hikers and equestrians have to sign up prior to Open Access Days, held about once every 3 months or so. There are only so many slots available to participate. This trail is not open on days not authorized by the Conservancy. To learn more, click here.

Description

This trail is all about canyon scenery. While the trail does gain about 500 ft of elevation, you'll hardly notice it. The trail follows noisy Santiago Canyon Road for a little bit, but after you are behind the ridge, it's dead quiet.

The fire road is in good condition, with a couple soft, sandy spots but no big deal. It's half shade, half sun. Limestone Canyon Road traverses a few meadows and oak forests, and at the end the runner is rewarded with a stunning view of the Sinks, OC's mini-grand canyon.
