Almost all fire road and always groomed. There is a very small section of singletrack, but it is not technical.

The trailhead is at the end of Lang Ranch Parkway in Thousand Oaks. There is plenty of parking on the street. This trail is all fire road, and it is almost all climbing with very few descents. From the trailhead, stay on the main trail - there are a few turns but just ignore these and stay your course.

The first mile will include climbing with some rolling hills and some shade. After that, it is wide open. At around mile 3, you'll hit China Flat. At this juncture you could turn right and head into Cheeseboro Canyon. Otherwise, continue going straight on the fireroad where you'll continue to climb until you get to the highest point. Stop along the way and enjoy the views.
