Overview
Enjoy a beautiful and challenging section of the
Tahoe Rim Trail with incredible views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains.
Need to Know
This route is dog friendly, but there's no water along the way. Every trail user must help prevent forest fires as it is very arid during summer and fall. Pack out everything you pack in.
Runner Notes
You can choose to go further north beyond the bench for 10 miles to connect with Spooner Junction and Hwy 50 if you're seeking a longer journey.
Description
This is a singletrack trail shared with those on foot and bikers. It is generally rolling, but filled with gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There are many vista points along the way to rest and take pictures. There are some fire trail intersections in case you need to be picked up in the middle of a run or hike.
This is a gradual uphill leading to the bench which you can use as your turn-around point. It can get very windy and exposed at the top. There are no water sources along the trail. Snow is slow to melt from winter and spring, but late spring and early summer are best to view wildflowers and spot deer.
