Description
Starting from Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area, this trail begins to ascend a sturdy climb. This climb continues on for over a mile and a half and is reminiscent of some of the steady climbs you find in more mountainous regions. The trail is in good condition, singletrack and travels through both thick forests and some open meadows. However, there are a couple of spots that are technical with roots and rocks. The trail becomes rather challenging in muddy conditions. Occasionally, some pretty stunning views are available in breaks in the forest. This is an excellent route, and can be connected with the Ice Age Trail: Devil's Lake Segment to make for a more extensive route.
