Description
Trail access is located either from the dam parking lot or Nichol Road at the northern terminus. From the dam parking lot, the trail has a small climb from below the dam to above, where the trail arrives at the intersection with
Heron Trail.
The trail continues and is rather flat following the wetlands edge before starting a switchback up the hillside entering the woods. The remaining trail stays above the wetlands in the woods, but gives plenty of views of the wetlands and Traverse Creek which runs through the wetlands.
The trail has small roots, potential for mud, and a few climbs in the 5-10% range.
Flora & Fauna
The wetlands are a great habitat for birds, deer, and other wildlife. Wildflowers are abundant within the park.
