Description
Starting from where Gulph Road crosses Valley Creek itself, the Valley
Creek Trail initially bends away from the water and passes through some woods. During this first portion of the trail, keep an eye out near where the
Colonial Spring Trail branches of to the west. There are interesting ruins of what used to be a bottling company that are still mostly intact. Peeking through the trees to see the remains of the buildings is exciting for visitors of all ages.
After passing the intersection with the
Horse-Shoe Trail, continue back eastwards until reaching the creek again. Follow the creek on this essentially flat trail as in hugs the eastern flank of Mount Misery. The short and relatively steep
Wolfinger Trail heads west uphill. Soon the Valley
Creek Trail ends at the Knox Covered Bridge.
Note: bikes and horses are also allowed on this trail, so a little extra caution is advised.
