Runner Notes

Be careful of the footing as the loose rock and dry dirt can be dangerous. Though the trail follows the ridge and is completely exposed, it is just off the ridge enough to not cause anxiety for most.

Description

Starting from the Umtanum Ridge Jeep Rd where the road begins to drop down to the creek, this trail follows the ridge. The trail is steep throughout dropping close to 1500 ft in just over 1.5 miles. The trail can be faint and hard to follow at times. Toward the end the trail becomes especially steep before it curves around to the left and flattens close to the Yakima riverbank.
