Description

The trailhead for this trail is located in a back parking lot behind the Church of the Nazarene. Pass the church and turn left up a small road to their family center. There is a gravel parking lot where the trailhead is. The trailhead is clearly marked, with the trail entering the woods and sharply turning right.

Much of the trail is clear and well defined. The climb begins as a fairly easy uphill, but toward the end there are parts that are very VERY steep, and the soil is loose. There are some rocks to climb over at the very end to get to the best viewing spot. This route overlooks RTE 75 through Rocky Face and north toward Tunnel Hill. It is easy to see why this was a contested area during the Civil War as it would give ample ability to shell armies marching through the pass.

If you choose to go all the way to the Convention Center, be aware that the trail becomes unmarked, traverses through private property and it is generally not recommended to continue past the grave of George Disney.
