Dogs Off-leash
Features
Birding · Lake · River/Creek · Waterfall
Open during the day. No biking.
Runner Notes
Popular with runners, be aware of trees to hop over on the NE side. West (RI) side has lots of exposed roots.
Description
Parking is available at either Bridgham Farm or at the parking area on Pleasant St. (Rt 114a) at the RI/MA border. The trail is flat with a short section of sidewalk/road road travel where you cross back into RI at the north end of the reservoir. From the trail, visitors will have views of the water for most of the trip, though the southern portion works its way through a boggy area. The trail alternates between sun and shade, but if the weather is hot, you may want to bring water.
This is a dog friendly trail, but bikes are not allowed. There are multiple blowdowns that are easy to step over on the east side of the reservoir. There are multiple kayak/canoe put ins and fishing along the shore, if you'd like to extend your run by paddling back home.
Flora & Fauna
A boardwalk through the bog has educational signage about this unique ecosystem.
