The West Spur is a wide gravel trail that connects Backbone to the west side of Lake Lehigh. It also connects to the Mountain Goats and Lakeside West singletrack trails.
The trail is about 11 feet wide, and is surfaced with fine limestone screenings. The surface is smooth and handles rain well. Even when the singletrack is muddy, the gravel trails are still an option for a run. It's a fine trail for families, walkers, or those with limited mobility.
