Getting to the trailhead can be a bit tricky, but this route is quite worthwhile. While on US 60, about 40 minutes past Globe, you'll pass over a pink bridge. Turn left onto the dirt road and go straight. You need to drive slow down this one vehicle dirt road as there are not may places for passing vehicles. Once you drive over the creek, turn right and the trail starts there!

Expect to get wet on this trail as you'll cross the creek several times. Bring extra clothing and shoes for the drive home, and leave them in your vehicle.

For most of the duration of the journey, you'll be running in the same drainage as the creek. The water is very clear and you can see where you are stepping easily when you need to cross. The rocks are NOT slippery as I had expected and my dog (Beagle) was able to jump over any boulders we had to climb over. Remember, dogs find a way better than us humans.

Along the way, remember to look up and around while running, there are some of the most spectacular views of the canyon walls. You'll be making your way up the narrow canyon, and while you'll want to pay attention to your feet, the views are spectacular.

As the canyon walls narrow, you'll notice that you're getting closer to the falls. You can climb on the rocks and though the water will be tempting, remember that swimming is prohibited on Apache land.

Beware of monsoon and rain, as the area is prone to flash flooding, and go early or there will be a lot of people.

I have heard of an eagle nest, but did not see one on the date I first visites this trail.
