Overview
A nice loop that's particularly good for runrs to stretch their legs without making to big of a commitment on time or mileage at the Kirkwood Mountain Resort. It starts with a paved warm up before moving onto the trails. Be sure to follow the description, there are a lot of intersections along the trail.
Description
Begin at the lodge at the Village Plaza and head north on Kirkwood Meadows Drive on a mellow descent that lasts for one mile. Turn left onto Fremont Drive and then the next left onto Dangberg Drive, the top of this road connects to the
Dangberg Trail.
The trail goes through some rolling climbs as it traverses through forests and across ski runs to end at the
Hole 'N Wall Road. Follow this clear road up to the very top of the TC Express to enjoy the views. When you're ready, head back down two bends in the road to the start of
Cutback.
Cutback crosses a wide and open ski run to connect with the
Solitude Road on the other side. Follow the road up for a third-of-a-mile where the
Robey Wolfe Trail starts. This switchbacking singletrack makes quick work of the slope along a small valley. Near the base, it merges onto a fairly soft cat track just above the Village Plaza.
Make your way through the village to return to where you started.
