Description
This is the only trail in tiny Harmony Headlands State Park. A 10 car parking lot right off Highway 1 has ample signage and free brochures and trail maps. The start of the trail appears to have been a road at some point - fairly level hardpack that is quite wide. There is one portapotty about half a mile in at the old ranch house (easy to spot on a small offshoot of the main trail).
Continue on the main trail, over scrubby grassland and through a small grove of eucalyptus out to coastal bluffs. You can scramble down to rocky beaches and tide pools near the end of the trail. Be sure to carry a wind and sun protective layer of clothing as the weather in the parking lot can be quite different from the conditions on the bluffs.
Flora & Fauna
There is abundant wildlife, especially birds and lizards. We also saw snakes and deer, although you may need to look a bit harder to spot these. Wildflowers were visible, even in July.
