The trail dries quickly and stays drier even when we've had heavy rain. Mostly flat landing surfaces the entire trail.

This is a great loop with good elevation gain. I've marked the trail with photos for the main intersections but it's well marked and and easy to find your way. It's a nice tour that goes down by the river and rises up to the top of Cox Mountain. The trail has a good canopy for cooler summer running and there are some nice wading pools down by the bridge (near the beginning and end of the trail).

The loop can be done in either direction. I find going clockwise better as it's a bit steeper going uphill than going down (which is my preference).

Mostly hardwood forest with a few conifers.
