This is genuine singletrack and is sparsely marked, but easy enough to follow. Trail shoes are recommended in all but the driest of conditions.

After crossing the Holdsworth/Atiwhakatu bridge take the signposted left toward Holdsworth Lookout.

Ascending sharply, this trail climbs to the Holdsworth Lookout before joining the Carrington ridge and meandering down a short saddle before climbing to the classic 'old sign post'.

This a dilapidated intersection for the original track up Mt Powell; keep left to join the current main track Gentle Annie Track above Rocky Lookout.
