Runner Notes

All most certainly trail shoes year 'round. With only very short sections that can be comfortably run, this track offers a real challenge.

Description

If you love tree roots and hard climbs, then this is the track for you!

This trail departs the Atiwhakatu Track and begins ascending sharply towards Mountain House. While being well-marked and easy to follow, the condition of the trail is genuine and little care is taken to do much beyond clearing major treefall. Expect tree roots and water on most of the climb which gradually sharpens to it's maximum gradient before meeting the Mountain House Link Track.

Came down this track and it really requires a lot of concentration on your foot placements, there are roots everywhere and it'd be very easy to do…
