The camp gates are locked at night during summer camp sessions (late June-early August) and are opened again around 8 am.
Runner Notes
Starting at the south end, shortly after crossing the third bridge, there is an exit trail to the left that crosses a fourth bridge and leads out to the camp road. If you want to do the entire trail, do not cross this bridge to the left, but keep to the right, following the creek to continue to the end.
Description
This trail starts at the south end of South Mountain Christian Camp and moves steadily northward. It is a long, continuous climb, reaching grades of up to 10%. The trail follows a small creek for much of the journey and crosses the water five times with bridges of varying widths (from 4 feet wide to 6 feet wide).
Flora & Fauna
Wild azaleas and dogwoods bloom along this trail in the spring. Deer, turkey, and groundhogs are commonly spotted.
