Overview
This loop provides a nice run along the Niagara Gorge Rim and the Niagara River, which offers a great opportunity to see the many rapids on the Lower Niagara River. Expect the descent into the gorge to be steep with some sections of tricky footing.
Runner Notes
Tricky footing and large crowds might make this route a bit difficult to run, unless you arrive very early in the morning.
Description

At one mile from the trailhead, a route leading to the right descends into the gorge. Take this right and descend steeply to the Niagara River. At the bottom of the gorge, the route splits. The left fork heads along the
Whirlpool Rapids Trail. Take the right fork to continue on the route. The trail follows the Niagara River along cliffs and through groves of trees.
At a junction, after about one mile of following the river, take a right. The trail immediately ascends numerous steps through a nice hardwood forest to the top of the gorge and back to the Devil's Hole parking area.
