Description
This is a popular day hike and a less common run, but it is a great trail that starts high and gets you much higher. From the parking lot until you get to the summit, the incline never really gives you a break but it is still manageable to keep the ascent under a couple hours for many visitors.
The majority of the trail is shaded until you reach the saddle where it becomes exposed where you are delighted with views the rest of the way. Water may be present along the trail trickling from rocks at a couple of springs, but this is highly dependent on recent weather and it is recommended to carry your own water. This route is best enjoyed after snowmelt in spring into early winter.
Caution should be taken during monsoon season to avoid the summit during lightening storms.
Flora & Fauna
Wildflowers galore adorn this trail, especially in the spring and early summer!
