The trail is very primitive but so are the lakes! This is another short side trip with big payouts. The trail runs up the south side of the valley with a few rocky areas and great views to the east. The first lake to show its self will be Horse Heaven Lake that lies just north of Horse Heaven Peak. There are primitive camping sites here.

Continue working your way up the valley past a small unnamed triangular lake and up over the hump to behold Slide Rock Lake. Not surprisingly, the lake is almost entirely ringed in rock slides. In just one mile, you'll have gotten off the beaten track, and you'll have passed three scenic lakes. What more could you ask for?
