Runner Notes
A couple steep sections will get your heart pumping and your legs burning! Otherwise, a pretty pleasant run.
Description
This trail is often run as part of a loop in either direction, by connecting with the
Seaborg Trail (formerly Homestead
Valley Trail). Most of the trail is actually a wide fire road that circles the Bear Creek watershed.
As you run along the ridge tops, you'll be treated to some splendid views of the area. However, since this is built as a fire road and not a singletrack trail, the grade is often quite steep making it a challenge for bikers, runners, or even horses especially after it rains.
The views along the trail are beautiful, and if you find you need an excuse to stop and catch your breath, be sure to take the time to take in the sights. Several trails, such as
Old Briones Road Trail, branch off to shorten the loop.
