Need to Know
There is a creek crossing near the end of the trail, before intersecting State Park Road, but is never high enough to warrant a detour. On particular rainy spring runs the water may come up to just below your knees, but in the summer there is usually just a trickle.
Description
After starting from the trailhead, runners gain the initial climb before going in and out of three hollows. Next, there's a sweeping left-hand turn that takes you past the popular "Aztec Rock." After Aztec Rock, the trail runs near its high point before navigating five sharp switchbacks down the hill. During the winter months, you can see the Strouds Run State Park down the hill in this section. After the descent, you'll cross a small stream and then a larger stream crossing that will bring water up to the shins during the wet months.
From the end, the trail intersects State Park Road across from the
Hollow Point Trail. Cross the road and head on if you want to make a longer run that shares the nice rolling characteristics of Thunderbunny.
