Overview

This is a quick steep run. The dirt is a bit loose with plenty of rocks. It gives you a spectacular view of Glendale, the Los Angeles Basin and San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. On a clear day you can see Catalina Island.

Description

Start at the Mummy Nature Trailhead. The trail starts off pretty mild, nicely tucked into the mountain. At the first split stay to the left to jump onto the Le Mesnager Loop Trail; from here it gets steep. There are quite a few rocks so watch your ankles!

As you climb, you'll start to get a great view of the San Gabriel Valley. The next split is after the very steep rise and is marked; stay to the left to get onto the Cooks Canyon Lookout Trail. The trail levels out here and takes you right to the top. The view is fantastic, and you can check out the geological survey marker.
