Description
Maggie's is a popular trail frequented by runners and mountain bikers. The trail begins just behind the Thunderhead Lodge in the middle of the
Government Camp Loop Road. It provides access to the
Crosstown Trail #755,
Camp Creek Trail #754 and other Government Camp system trails. Good sight-lines and a wide corridor go a long way in reducing user conflict.
The trail becomes snowed in during the winter, but it is still suitable for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing. and even running when the trail surface is icier or the snow is old.
Flora & Fauna
Western red cedar, Alaskan yellow cedar, Douglas fir, mountain hemlocks, and lodgepole pine are found along Maggie's Trail. The understory is sword fern, rhododendron, skunk cabbage, salal, Oregon grape, thimble berry, and salmon berry. Best of all, there are good huckleberry bushes around, but get there early as they are popular with the locals and picked quickly!
