Runner Notes
This is not really a great running trail.
Description
From the parking lot, the first half mile of the trail is through open desert and crosses Dale's Trail along the way. The trail starts a bit braided, with some folks staying up high and others quickly heading into the creek bottoms.
Soon you arrive at the blessed shade. As you get deeper into the canyon, you eventually drop down into the creek's gravel bottom.
Evidence of rock climbing routes are pasted on the walls around you. After a while, you begin to pick your path through boulders and the path becomes steeper.
At a little over a mile, the trail splits into two separate canyons. Going to the left, you dead end in a beautiful water-carved bowl. Going right leads you to a 5th class climb (aided with a rope) that terminates at a steep 200' wall.
