Runner Notes

Can be a bit slick due to leaf litter, and some exposed roots can cause trip hazards.

Description

The Sweetgum Trail is an easy loop run. The trail links into several other routes that lead away from the visitor center on Glade Rd. This particular trail links into the Homestead Trail and White Trail for more adventures. Scenic views can be had along the lake, or visitors can stop at the lodge and take in the cabin or the foundry. Special events are held all year long at the lodge.

Check the Red Top Mountain State Park website for more information.

Flora & Fauna

Hardwoods/pine forest.
