Runner Notes
This trail is simple doubletrack with little variation in grade. Link with
Bridal Veil Falls Trail (T129) and
Grandview Trail (T130) for a longer run.
Parking may be crowded on weekends as this trail is fairly popular with hikers. There are only about 3-4 parking spots in the lot and along the road. There is another area to park up Fresnal Canyon Rd. at the Bridal Veil and Grandview trailheads.
Cattle are usually present along the trail.
Description
The Salado Canyon Trail is a section of old railroad bed that has been repurposed into multi-use trail by the Rails-to-Trails Association. Mostly doubletrack, this trail is an easy run to Bridal Veil Falls. The trail is maintained and mostly flat other than the areas that were trestle back when the railroad climbed through the canyon. There are also a number of cattle guards/gates that must be passed through. Please leave the gates as you find them!
Flora & Fauna
Standard high desert wildlife. Cattle are usually present due to this being near contracted BLM and NFS land.
