Runner Notes

Typical root hazards exist, but aren't too much to overcome.

Description

The trail starts with a short wooden bridge across the Lee Hall Reservoir and provides access to the Twin Forts Trail and the continuation of the White Oak Nature Trail.

The second segment of the White Oak Nature Trail continues to wind past the the Sycamore Creek Trail, Swamp Fire Trail and Wynn's Mill Loop Trail. These trails can be added as options to increase mileage or access the Bikeway Trail. Most of the trails provide great views of nature and Civil War earthworks along the way.

The third segment of the trail begins at the Swamp Bridge that crosses Deer Run Creek. This section is a relatively flat trail that meanders along the lakeside before it returns to the Day Use Area where parking and bathrooms can be found.
