Description

The trail crosses over the ridge between Hawksbill and Gingercake Mountains. It is a pretty mellow trail besides the section near the Sitting Bear, which is a big rock formation that looks like, well you guessed it, a sitting bear. That section of the trail is only a tenth of a mile long, but it is the steepest section of trail in the entire gorge. It's just the trail's way of keeping you honest in the Linville Gorge.
