This trail starts leisurely from Mittag with early access to Bärenkopf. From there, the trail traverses through the woods and begins its climb up towards Steineberg. This section gets steeper in grade until a switchbacking staircase to the base of the exposed cliff face below the summit. From here, there is a ~20ft ladder that you can use or you can continue on this trail looking for the short spur to the summit.
