Make sure to take the sharp turn off to the right at the end of Johns Track (Lower Car Park).

Starting from the upper car park, this trail heads on a short excursion up to the lookout platform on Wrights Hill. From this lookout, runners will be able to enjoy stunning views of the hills and harbor of Wellington.

The trail is paved in some sections and unpaved in others as it switchbacks tightly from the car park up to the grassy are where you'll find the lookout platform. Keep an eye open for gun pit 1 which you'll pass along the way, which was the main defensive weapon of the Wrights Hill Fortress.
