Description

This trail follows the path of the old Mt. Tamalpais Scenic Railway from Mill Valley to the summit ridge of Mount Tamalpais. Along the way, it winds through cool redwood canyons and sunny chaparral and grassland slopes. Views of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay are excellent.

A good stop along the trail is the West Point Inn, which hosts pancake breakfasts once a month during the summer.

This trail is popular with runners, hikers, and mountain bikers, so keep an ear out and be courteous to your fellow trail users.
