Description
This trail winds around Lake Lincoln, following the shoreline and crossing the dam. It's mostly a dirt trail and, given its elevation relative to the lake, can get fairly muddy in the wetter months. That said, the park has built elevated wood platforms through the worst of it, making it manageable even in the muddiest conditions. Along the back end, there are a few steep grades for only a few feet, but it may be enough to make it difficult for some people.
One of the highlights of the trail is that it is the access trail to the
Fire Tower Trail. The fire tower is one of the highest point in the surrounding counties, allowing you to see for miles in every direction and providing some excellent views. Taking this trail will add some distance and increase the difficulty due to much steeper grades and several flights of stairs up the tower, but it is quite worth it.
