Need to Know

If you bring a dog, also bring water. There are two spots where there may be water if it has rained recently, but it is often dry. The first spot is a little over a mile from the trailhead. The second is at the end of the yellow trail, where Lake Louise sometimes discharges to the West.

Description

A rugged, rocky trail along traprock ridge, with great views of the Farmington River Valley. There are several steep climbs and descents, and a few sections that hug a 200-foot cliff.

Continue to the north on the Orange Trail to Wintonbury Road and Wilcox Park, and eventually into Cowles Park in East Granby. Continue south to the West Hartford Reservoir. There is easy access to downtown Simsbury restaurants via Wintonbury Road/Terrys Plain/Riverside/Drake Hill.
