Overview

This run is super fun. I did it with my Boy Scout troop and it was a blast. You should bring plenty of water (I brought a liter) and also be prepared for getting wet or even go swimming a little in the creek at the end.

Runner Notes

This trail is runnable, but your shoes will get muddy and there are steep and slippery sections, so make sure you have traction.

Description

To start you go to the top of Komo Mai Drive where there is a green gate. You'll need to park along the road leading up to the gate. The first part of the run is an easy half mile or so with the Manana/Waimano Ridge Trail being composed of pavement, roots, and a wide trail. Then you'll come to a sign pointing off to the right, on the Waimano Falls Spur. You need to take that right to reach the scenic endpoint. Then you'll be on the actual trail which will be a singletrack trail. At the end of the trail you see a large pool with a rope swing in it. The falls are just a little upstream of the pool.

Once you've enjoyed admiring the waterfall and have had a dip, simply return the way that you came to make it back to the trailhead.

You can barely see the rope swing in the middle of the pool. It gets about 6.5 feet deep.
