Runner Notes
Mostly flat, a nice out and back 5k+ run. No bathrooms at the Lake Fork Trailhead.
Description
Park at the Lake Fork dispersed campground and run to the back of the campground. This trail is popular with mountain bikers because of the mostly flat tread. They keep it pretty well cut out too. At about 0.7 miles the trail takes a hard left; look for an arrow on a tree. You can go straight and end up at the same place but the right fork has a steeper section that the mountain bikers like to avoid. There's a small climb as you approach one mile, and then the trail returns to a gentle rolling trail.
At 1.7 miles, you come to a junction, go straight for the East Fork Lake Fork (Snowslide) Trail #104 and turn right for the Anderson Lake Trail #103.
The huckleberry picking is pretty good along this trail. Because it is close to town and relatively flat, a lot of pickers visit it, but it seems they rarely head more than a mile down the trail.
