Description

Hihn Hammond Road starts south of the Big Basin Park headquarters, right off Big Basin Way. From there Hihn Hammond Road crosses over Opal Creek and then climbs through the redwoods to a ridge. Once on the ridge, the road turns west, crossing the Howard King Trail several times. As you progress along the trail, the forest gradually gives way to chaparral with views south to the Pacific Ocean. Near the end of the road, the Howard King Trail heads northwest toward Berry Creek Falls, and the McCrary Ridge Trail heads southwest toward Waddell Creek. The road ends on a sunny perch above Waddell Creek.
