Description
The Tower Trail is an additional loop that originates off of the
Arbor Hills Loop. This trail has some slight elevation gain and travels through both prairie grassland and forest sections. The trail's namesake, Observation Tower, is worth the additional steps to enjoy wonderful views of the nature preserve from a much elevated position.
This tower is very well built and a great spot to enjoy a quick or long break. The trail continues winding through the forest providing access to many of the unpaved trails and connectors and concludes back on the
Arbor Hills Loop.
Flora & Fauna
The preserve is teeming with wildlife offering many viewing options especially for local bird life. The preserve is also blanketed in local prairie grasses and wildflowers (during appropriate seasons). This is a great place to grab the binoculars and guidebook to go enjoy some of the many local bird species. The preserve is also home to all manners of typical forest dwelling creatures, which does include snakes and healthy patches of poison ivy.
