Description
This is a grasslands trail inside Addicks Reservoir. Sections can be flooded after rains, and will remain muddy for some time thereafter. This trail can also be accessed by the
Concord-Addicks link, and provides access to the
Wise Fox Trace.
The eastern end is at North Eldridge Parkway. There is a gate; motor vehicles are prohibited in Addicks Reservoir. The trail goes northwest along the southern border of a residential subdivision. Please be considerate of the residents in the section near the subdivision.
The trail diverts to the south before reaching the eastern bank of Langham Creek. There is a concrete, low-water crossing at the
Concord-Addicks link.
The trail ends at the northern end of Addicks Reservoir at the Corps of Engineers' gate. North of the gate is Harris County Flood Control District property.
According to US Army Corps of Engineers' records, the land where Horsepen Creek joins Langham Creek was owned by Mary Helen Lee et al before appropriation for the reservoir.
Mosquitoes are common.
