Description
Though a singletrack dirt trail, this route follows a legacy farm road and is relatively high and well-drained. It runs due east from North Eldridge Parkway from just south of the Patterson Road intersection, then jogs south before turning east to Turkey Creek. Generally, Turkey Creek has too much water to cross with dry feet.
Trail connections include
Noack Trail heading north and a
Bauer Trail crossing just before reaching Turkey Creek.
Hermann Hospital Trail shares a portion of this trail.
The trail is generally wide and flat, but there are some sections that remain muddy for extended periods after rains. The first half mile or so on the east end has some deep tire ruts that can be hidden in the high summer vegetation.
Deer are common.
According to US Army Corps of Engineers’ records, most of this trail is on land that was owned by Tim Miles et al before appropriation for the reservoir. The far eastern portion near Turkey Creek was owned by the Herman (sic) Hospital Trust.
