Runner Notes

Combine this trail with the Hawes Trail and part of the Saddle Trail or Granite Trail and Saguaro Trail for an nice loop. It can be easy to get lost in this trail system and end up running more than you intended.

Description

From west to east, this trail is a steady incline. It connects the Hawes Trail on the west side of the system (near the trail main system entrance) to the Saddle Trail on the west. This is an open desert trail with a nice remote feeling and not a lot of traffic. It provides good views of the Salt River and Red Mountain.

Signage is sparse and limited to the trail junctions. I always carry a printed map, just in case or you can use the Trail Run Project mobile app to make sure you stay on track.

Flora & Fauna
