The park offers more than 50 acres of wooded trails with an observation pier on the Appomattox River, and features some great technical trails with some ups and downs.

There are no more that 10 parking spots at the trailhead, but more are available around the nature center on the Yellow Trail, along with bathrooms. There is a grill and picnic area at the canoe/kayak launch point.

ARPR is a hard to find park, but it has some great ups and downs. There is an overlook pier to get a quick break or that awesome sunset/sunrise photo. This run incorporates the Perimeter Trail along with the Green Trail to make it a big loop of the park. There is a small boardwalk at the canoe launch point that will lead you to the Perimeter Trail; if you find yourself running up the paved road, you didn't go far enough.

The park was started in 2003 at 20 acres with about a mile of trail and has grown to about 50 acres and four trails.
