Description

Desert View skirts the southern edge of Wild Horse Butte as it loops to the far northeastern point of the trail system. Heading clockwise from the intersection with Landslide Trail, head north toward Wild Horse Butte.

After passing the second intersection with Dark Side of the Moon, you'll skirt the large butte and then stop to take a moment to admire the view at the Wild Horse Butte Overlook. You'll be able to see the sandstone formations of the San Rafael Swell which make up the skyline to the north.

Continuing on, you'll come to the Desert View Overlook where you'll get a good sense for how Goblin Valley State Park is laid out.

At the Lizard Foot Trail intersection, turn left to head back to the parking area, or continue on to link up with other loops.
