East portion of the East Ridge Trail is rock and boulder covered; NOT suitable for running!

Description

This one-mile trail was historically used as the approach to the famous Appalachian Trail. It follows part of an old roadbed from the Visitor Center to the top of the waterfall.

Flora & Fauna

Good variety of trees, view of the fall colors from the back deck of the Lodge are amazing! Black bear and deer roam freely in this state park.
