Overview
A trail not many can access.
This route is amazing, and you must run it. Especially since you've already come so far south!
Despite the boat ride over lake Traful, this trail is a must-visit. But if you want to amaze your self the whole nine yards, take the boat ride, visit the underwater forest and then GO Run!!
Need to Know
Bring food, water and supplies, there is NOTHING around!!
Description
First of all, in order to reach the start of this trail, you have to get to Villa Traful a magical place in the Traful Lake, and get a hold of a great tour guide aka "EL RUSO". They will get you on a guided trip around the lake (something you MUST do), and you ask him to leave you on the long beach across the lake.
This is where it all begins. Keep in mind that this area is both remote and small, the beach can hold only up to 20 people a da. Even if you aren't running, the area near the water is a great place to spend the day sitting on the beach and admiring the view.
When you get antsy and your feet start getting anxious well...There is a Trailhead that shows the map to go to the Mellizas "Twins" which are a couple of lagoons some km up the mountain. The trail is well marked and you can either run up to the lagoons, or if you want to spend all day on this side of the water, you can have a great longer outing by continuing past the lagoons back to the water's edge. From there you'll have to return the way that you came, as there's no path that will bring you back to the beach along the water's edge.
