Description
This is an easy, family friendly, and consequently, very popular trail leading to Moore Cove Falls. It's best to avoid this trail in the the high-traffic summer months. Roadside parking is along the eastern side of the road, just before the Hwy 276 bridge crosses over Looking Glass Creek. There is a trail information sign right where you park.
You'll start the trail by crossing a footbridge, and it is marked by a yellow blaze. The trail will climb at a moderate grade for the first 150ft from the parking area, but then level off. The trail is well maintained and has solidly built footbridges.
The trail ends at Moore Cove Falls, which casts water over a cave-like rock outcropping. You can explore all the way around the base of the waterfall (or through it, if it's oppressively hot!). The trail does not go beyond the falls. Do not try to make your way to the top of the fall, as it is dangerous and will potentially cause unnecessary environmental damage.
Flora & Fauna
Cove Hardwoods, Orchids, Pink Lady’s Slipper, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, and Dwarf Iris.
