Runner Notes

The trail can get busy at times, so know that you share trail/path with walkers, runners, and bikers.

Description

The Wehrspann or Chalco Lake Trail, is a nice, easy, concrete trail around a man-made dam site in Sarpy County. You can do the big loop, all the way around the lake for about 6+/- miles. Or there's a smaller version, that enters off HWY 370 that is 2.8 miles.

The nice thing is that there are benches along the way, picnic areas, a couple vault toilets, and even water spigots. You can fish, enjoy the trail, and picnic here. Deer and other wildlife are plentiful and it is a great way to get outdoors. There is a huge payoff with little expenditure.

Flora & Fauna

Tons of deer, rabbits, and birds. Most of the trees and plants have little signs naming them.
