Runner Notes
This trail is a great option if you are looking to avoid the infamous soul and quad-crushing stairs of the area. While you'll still have some ups and downs (and a couple sets of stairs to navigate), the running in between is generally quite pleasant. It can be a bit muddy after rain near the creeks and drainages.
Description
The Prince Henry Cliff Walk is a great trail option for runners looking to hit all the highlights of the Blue Mountains--Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, Echo Point, Honeymoon Point, Leura Cascades, and Gordan Falls to name a few.
The trail follows along the cliff top between Katoomba and Leura, treating runners to breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains all along the way. You'll have several scenic overlooks where the cliff drops away and the trees open up to truly spectacular views of the valleys below. The track also features stunning views of Katoomba Falls, Leura Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Gordon Falls and the iconic Three Sisters.
Flora & Fauna
Sulphur-crested cockatoos, the exquisite mimicking Lyre birds, and the cacophonous chiming bell birds. The trail heads through large groves of Eucalyptus and in the spring, you may spot flannel flowers, native irises and boronias blooming.
