This trail leads you through dense forests to an overlook of Lake Superior on the top of Day Hill.

For the best view, head to the overlook during sunset to see the lake erupt in fiery oranges and yellows. Don't worry about getting locked in – the park is open until 10pm daily.

After soaking up the views up top, you can head back down the trail to the intersection with the Gitchi-Gami State Trail and follow it southwest for a short distance to reach the second leg of the Day Hill Trail. If you'd like more time on the trail, this leg will lead you to the Corundum Mine Trail for further recreation.
