If it has rained heavily recently either near Brazos Bend State Park or upriver of the park be sure to check for trail closures before heading to the park.

Description

This trail starts at the three-way intersection with Bluestem Trail and Franky's Dam Trail. The trail follows the Brazos River to the northeast from this intersection, although at times the thick forest between the trail and the river can obstruct the namesake views. The trail is almost perfectly flat (like most trails in Brazos Bend State Park) and is made of a gravel fill doubletrack, so it is easy going. At the very northern end of the trail, you'll find a historic house used by people who once managed the area as a private ranch.
